As part of an international organisation of Men’s Sheds, one has been started for Corsham and the surrounding communities. Cllr Phil Whalley of Corsham Town started the initiative and handed it over to those who attended the first meeting at the venue. The club will be called The Brunel Shed and women are welcome to join as well as men.
The Brunel Shed
It will be a larger version of the typical garden shed and is an opportunity to socialise over tea or coffee, work on projects, share expertise, tools and resources. It is hoped that new members will soon feel at home and will find the Brunel Shed to be a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. There have been several meetings to get this project launched. A committee has been formed, a constitution written and applications are being submitted for grants. Work benches and several tools have been offered and, with the help of the Town Council, will soon be in place. It is hoped that that the club will be up and running early in the New Year.
